Gary had had enough. Whilst Alex's father concentrated on the spell, he pounced, knocking the man to the ground. He grabbed the wand out of the man's hand and snapped it easily in half with one hand. "That's how easily i can break your bones," he said, pinning Alex's father underneath him. He curled his hand into a fist and held it in the air, ready to bring it down if needs be. "Don't you dare call him flith, the only one who is flithy around here is you. You're a pathetic excuse of a father," he hissed, his fangs at full length.

Alex's father just laughed and laughed at the boy, "So you're a vampire, well that makes sense. Gareth I am a real father, unlike yours. I know all about you. The Dark Lord has told me everything. Everything about you both. You are sick. Whatever you do to each other will stop. You will never see my son again, or I will rip apart everything you love. Including dear Aleksandr if I must."

Alex lay silent on the floor, "Don't hurt him," he mumbled to Gary, "He's still my father."

Gary snarled, "You know nothing about my father nor about me. You follow you're precious Lord but he is a coward like the rest of us. You believe he will save you all, but you are just pawns on his chess board, ready to be sacrificed to save the king." Keeping his hold on Alex's father, he looked at Alex, "Alex, what has this man ever done for you? You think he cares? You think that he would chose your life over his? Look what he's done to you," he said, turning back and glaring at the man.

"Ripped to pieces by one of Alex's brothers wasn't he?" Alex's father chuckled, "I follow the same Lord Aleksandr does. Whatever you say is to both of us. He will save us, whether you join or not."

Alex bit his lip and looked over to Gary, his father's words were right. Not all of them, just some of them. "I've already lost him once. He's kept me alive, that's more than most people. Please. Lets just go back to the castle. Forget him." He stood and placed his hand on Gary's shoulder, "Please."

Gary snarled at Alex's father, baring his teeth again, "Shut up!" he cried, bringing his fist down. There was a horrible crunching sound as bone smashed in the man's face, but Gary was used to the noise. "You think he will save you? Well you're both wrong. People on both sides of this war will die, whether you follow the Dark Lord or Dumbledore. The only difference is that Dumbledore actually cares if people die, unlike him." He sighed and let go of the man, "You're not worth my time," he said, grabbing Alex's hand and walking away.

Alex followed Gary obediently and in silence until the reached the edge of the forest. "I'm sorry," he said quietly, almost close to tears. Both of them had been out of order, his Father for saying those things and Gary for hitting him. But he probably deserved it. Alex lot go of Gary hand and continued to walk behind his boyfriend, trying not to make him any angrier than he already was.

Gary laughed, almost madly, "Will you stop saying that?! It's hardly you're fault. You're always apologising for things which you don't need to." He stopped and took in a deep breath, closing his eyes, his hands clenched by his side. 'Control you're anger,' he thought, taking in long, slow breaths. 'Just take it easy. You'll end up hurting Alex at this rate...or worse..' he thought, still not moving.

"Sorry," Alex mumbled, then, realizing what he had said stopped suddenly behind Gary, "I-I mean, umm, yes? Or-or okay? umm..." his voice trailed off, it was amazing how in such a short space of time he could feel so small. He rubbed his arm absentmindedly and looked at the floor, he knew Gary was getting angry, and it was all his fault. It was always his fault. It shocked him that Gary even wanted to stick around. Maybe he didn't. Maybe he was going to leave and not come back; and there Alex would be, alone again. The pale lycanthrope looked down at the floor, he didn't know what to say.

Gary sighed and ran a hand through his hair, tugging at the strands. The small amount of pain seemed to clear his mind slightly and he turned around. "It's ok. I just...I just get so..angry... People like him shouldn't be allowed to..." he sighed agian, and shook his head. This was Alex's father they were talking about, not some random stranger. He walked over to Alex and pulled Alex into a hug. "I'm sorry for hitting him," he said.
