Melody walked out of the castle, wearing a pair of hole-filled jeans and a soft grey t-shirt and her favorite black cloak. Her black high tops swished in the grass as she walked to the edge of the black lake, laying herself on the ground. She folded her arms behind her head and looked out at the stars over the lake, which reflected like a mirror. Melody felt like she was in a parallel dimension, with just her and the stars and the silent world. She sighed, but suddenly as the cool night breeze wafted over her, she felt she was not alone.

Melody saw the veela- one of their only full veela students. Christabelle Whittle. Melody sighed, getting up and walking over to her. "You should be in trouble- you know that right?" She said, her voice imitating how tired she really was. She knew she didn't look very authoritative in her casual wears, but she tried to implicate it in her tired voice. "I know you can speak english, und ich spreche Deutsches." Melody finished in German, looking down at Christabelle. "So come on- why are you here?"

Melody sighed, sitting herself down next to Christabelle. "No- you're not in trouble. Just so long as no one else catches us, you're not in trouble. If they do, I'll hop up, pretend to punish you, and bring you inside free of charge. As long as you spread a story about how you got in loads of trouble." Melody winked at the last part. "Couldn't sleep huh?" Melody lay down in the grass, tucking her hands under her head. "Why?"

Christabelle laughed at the comment, "Deal." she replied as Melody sat down. She sighed when she asked her why she couldn't sleep. "I honestly don't know." she said looking up at the stars. "I get like that some times I suppose." She couldn't help but wonder if what her parents had told her was true. "I found out I'm in an arranged marriage with a childhood friend that I haven't seen in years and he's supposed to be coming here fairly soon and I..I don't know if...if I'm anything that he expects."

"Woah- that's cold." Melody said, turning her head to look at Christabelle. "An arranged marriage? What kind of parents do you have? Are veela's so selfish as to-" Melody stopped, feeling there was a fine line here she shouldn't cross. "Well, in any case that has to be awful." Melody suddenly thought of a bright side. "Hey- at least you know you're going to get married." Melody said, thinking of her own life. "My romantic life? I'm just not attractive at all." Melody finished with that, looking back into the sky.

"My parents were trying to keep me away from certain evils in this world when it was arranged." she said as if it were nothing, "I've had the hugest crush on him since we were children, so it honestly isn't that horrible." She sighed at Melody's comment about how she wasn't attractive, "Well you aren't as..nevermind, you're attractive in your own way professor, I'm sure someone is out there for you."

"let's not play the 'pity the professor' game." Melody said. "I'm sure you're what he expects. You're a beautiful veela." Melody answered Christabelle's first question. "By the way, have I ever told you how much I love your name? Ever since it was on my attendance list- Christabelle Whittle. Beautiful." Melody said, being quite honest.

"Thank you." she replied, trying her hardest not to act vain. It was a practice she was used to since she had been taught to have some humility but she still hated having to hide that nasty aspect of her character, "My name is actually supposed to be spelled with one L but my parents wanted it to be even more different than what it was." she said explaining it, "It means a beautiful Christ follower."

"Interesting." Melody said- but the subject of religion always seemed to upset her the tiniest bit. "So- I saw you at Gary's party." Melody said, flipping to a topic she wanted to know more about. After all, she very much liked this student- and she wouldn't want her to get into any trouble, wouldn't want the poor veela to get hurt now... melody shook her head, brusquely. "Did you have a good time? meet any other students? Was your fiance there- I would have liked to introduce myself...."
