Melody waited in her classroom, sitting in one of the may desks on the floor. She had a textbook out, and a few examples, along with something called a laptop. She was going to teach a student who didn't take her class how to work his new mobile. She got clearance from Dumbledore for the laptop to get signal from an internet port down in Hogsmeade- who'd have thought they'd have one? Melody watched the clock, Gary was supposed to arrive soon-ish. She pulled out the book she had with her, fliping through to the spot where she left off and reading.

Gary strolled down to the classroom, his new phone in his hand. He smiled, glad that he had asked Professor Rouge to help him out. Alex had tried explaining a bit about the phone to him but he was still kind of confused by it. He knocked on the door before entering, "Hey Professor! Thanks for giving me some help out of lessons! I really think i should have taken your subject," he said, smiling sheepishly at her. He did feel slightly guilty for asking her to help him out of lesson time, when he didn't even take her subject!

"Of course, Regardless of the opinions of most of my students and classmates, my class actually comes in handy." Melody smiled. "Being a teacher, I'm going to have to give you a bit of a lesson before we work with your phone." Melody smiled, waving her wand at the chalkboard. "Do you know what batteries are, or electricity?" Melody asked, the words forming on the board in her elegant handwriting.

Gary sat down on a desk and looked at the board, frowning slightly. "Well i know that electricity is used by muggles to power things. Aren't batteries like electricity in a can or something?" he asked, loooking over to her. For a vampire who had spent 70 odd years living amongst muggles, he really didn't have much of a clue on all their gismoes [spl] and things.

Melody nodded. "In a nutshell, yes, electricity is what Muggles use to power homes, radios, televisions, coffee makers..." Themselves. Melody joked to herself. "Batteries, electricity in a can...." She gave a teeny chuckle, not meaning to laugh at Gary's intellect. "I'm sorry. Batteries are filled with juice." Melody said, picking one up and shaking it. She had a tiny AA Duracell with her. She passed it to Gary. "Do you feel that?" she asked, gesturing for him to do the same. "Do you feel the liquid shift inside?"

Gary copied her movements and frowned, "I wonder how they get that electricity to run through a liquid." He shrugged lightly and handed Melody the battery back. "So my....cell phone... runs on batteries? But Alex said something about charging it or something like that..." he said, frowning again. It was strange, he had seen the revolution into technology, but he hadn't really used any of it. He had lived on his own so he just used magic all the time.

Melody nodded. "I teach that in my class." She smiled. "But your cell phone runs on a different kid of battery, a permenent one. It doesn't feel the same as a disposable- that's what they call the cylindrical ones by the way, disposable-" The definition and the word was written carefully on the board. "Yours doesn't get thrown away when it runs out of energy, it gets recharged, or filled back up with energy, or electricity." Melody serched his face, making sure he was following her. She couldn't tell, so she asked if he was, the point of this was purely for him to understand.
