((how funny, I think I shall sidestep mentioning what my pet is exactly to allow for the forest scene to be believable...it is supposed to be after this meetiing, lol))

Shiro grinned, "Yes, I can understand, I have Aoi to keep me company, and act as my guard 'dog'," she said the last light heartedly, then her voice changed and was tinged with a touch of meloncholy, she hadn't been home in years, hadn't even had a "home" to feel lonely in. But she understood the call of someone to come back to, Aoi really did fill that need; he was all she had. "He really does help me when I feel lonely...I will take him out for a walk and everything seems to feel better. Although he usually walks me, he's a big lug."

She smiled but it was a sad smile, she tried to think of something to change the subject and keep the sad mood at bay. Darien's aura had shifted too, he was mildly sad too...

"So you said something about living here at Hogwarts, what's that like living in this ancient castle?" she asked her interest making up for her sadness and lifting her mood slightly.

“Noisy,” Darien gave a brief chuckle. “Always children running around, always people and animals and books throwing tantrums. I enjoy the chaos though, much like Mith it keeps me from feeling lonesome.” He paused to sip at his tea and tapped a fingertip on Mith’s brown nose. “We should walk together some time, Miss Torashiro,” he said brightly. “I’m sure that Mith would like a doggy friend.”

Shiro got distracted in her thoughts of living in a bustling castle. She had been alone for so long that she thought it would be a welcome change to have the noise and calamaty.

She heard him say something about walking their animals together, "Yes I'd like to go for a walk with you two, I know Aoi would love it."

She was thinking about the living area he had mentioned, "Darien, when do you think you would be available to show me the rooms?? I think I would love to see them." she thought about what she had said, it sounded as if she were inviting herself to his rooms, and she blushed, "I mean the one I couold stay in," she clarified. She thought she would like to see his living quarters; she expected them to be comfortable and tastefully decorated, although overflowing with books which suited her quite well.

The word home popped into her mind again and she smiled.

“Well, I do have to make a quick run down to the service desk to pick up a new arrival,” Darien checked his watch and winced, “For which I am already quite late. But if you would like to join me, I can show you right up afterwards?” He offered a shy smile, apparently unaware of Torashiro’s slip. “It is a maze of little rooms up there, I’ve n doubt you will find something to your liking.”

Shiro sipped the last of her tea, set her teacup back onto the tray and stood, "Then we should go now, I am sorry for making you late for an appointment! This will be good, though, to see the service desk and watch you work. I will feel like I am learning already," she said with a smile.

((Will you post a new thread for the living quarters, or just continue here?))

((Hmm. I think a new thread. Close this one off and set up one in the forth floor in general so Darien can show Shiro around. Agreed?))

"Ah..." Darien found himself flattered by Torashiro's display of attention and nearly broke his own tea cup in his distraction before finally setting it neatly upon the table. "Of course, we can go now." He stood and stumbled, having forgotten Mith was laying across his feet. The big dog barked and fled for the door. There was a brief moment of confusion and flying robes but Darien was able to remain on his feet, dignity somehwat still intact. He coughed.

"Shall we?"

Shiro was surprised when Darian jumped up so suddenly and nearly lost his balance. She was actually quite impressed when he kept himself upright, Her eyes had followed Mith as he darted out, so she missed most of his struggle to remain upright anyway.

When he lead the way she followed with a grin, for some reason she could not fathom he had endeared himself to her even more.

((Umk then, I will follow your lead, you can contimue this a little more to the service desk, or just let it end here and start the new one. Your choice. =D ))
