It was a full moon.

Shiro looked towards Jim, she'd only met him and she didn't know what his capabilities were. His aura flickered black, he had power that was good then...she hoped. She was prepared for whatever might disturb them in this seemingly quiet and beautiful location in the desolation that was the Forbidden Forest.

SHe searched the outer edges of the clearing, when the moon broke through a mass of clouds everything was briefly illuminated. Her usually sharp eyes could not see what was in the darkness. Aoi huffed and she knew he was alert too, he could tell something was amiss, but she couldn't figure out what it was.

A werewolf jumped out of the forest. Jim cursed and used Aqua Eructo firing a jet of water at it. He also got farther away, so he wouldn't be scrathed. "C'mon, hide!" he yelled to Shrio.

Shiro jumped up in shock, Aoi opened his mouth to show off his razor sharp teeth, he was alert but not ready to strike. They were both alert. Shiro felt for Jim with her senses; looked for the emotions he should be giving off, because she didn't want to take her eyes off the werewolf. He called out and she was relieved. She couldn't run as he directed; her feet were frozen, besides she didn't feel anything sinister from the werewolf.

His aura was green; calm, tranquil. She was hyper aware of where everyone was now. Jim was still near, and Aoi was, of course, behind her...the werewolf was standing there...

"I can beat him," Jim said, "But I'm gonna use an Unforgivable Curse. I need you not to tell anyone." Like it mattered, but he didn't want to kill the girl to keep the sercet. Even if he sometimes killed for fun.

Shiro sighed and closed her eyes, why did it always have to end in death. She had heard of werewolves like Fenrir Greyback, but she wasn't altogeather certain all were evil. This one was drenched, and had yet to charge her, or him for that matter.

She nodded once, "I'm going, so whatever you do is up to you, I see nothing." She slipped onto Aoi Ryu's back and he eased into the air. She didn't go too far, just back to the edge of the forest a couple hundred yards away.

Her mind was tangled, she was sad that the place she'd found would never again be a solace for her. She would have to search harder, there had to be other nice places, that could not have been the only one.

Determined now she and Aoi began to trod through the forest in a different direction than she had gone before. Being a wanderer, her last name even meant wanderer... she had an excellent sense of direction.

She would go far away from the clearing, and she would not give up until she found another nice place to relax. Aoi sensed her stubbornness, so he stayed at her side. He wasn't relaxed, but he knew his lady well enough not to try to dissuade her.

She had liked Jim, and still thought they could be friendly if their paths crossed again.

With expectations of finding another nice clearing and maybe another being to talk to she headed off into the forest again. After all, Aoi hadn't really been "walked" yet.

( alright, we'll skip ahead a few days and have Jim meet Shiro again, I'm bored anyway.)

Shiro noticed Aoi's head perk up as he noticed something. He lead her in a different direction, and she heard a faint voice in the distance. After the last encounter her guard was up.

Soon she followed the dragon to a blighted expanse of trees, some looked as if they had been pulled from the ground. She looked around, but there was no one here.

Aoi was likea guide dog, and he had found something that interested him, so Shiro followed obediently, besides it was rather hard to direct a dragon, even a young one like Aoi.

Soon she could see the evidence that someone had passed this way recently...very recently. The broken plants and scattered footprints evidenced the fact. One person, probably a man by the depth of the impressions and size. She began to follow the trail her curiosity peaked.

Before long the figure who had made the trail came into view, it was vaguely familiar, and Shiro tried to read the aura...he was ...confused? No, but it was a bewildered aura. As she got closer she understood, he was lost.

"Aiya," she called out softly so as not to startle him as she approached. She was pretty quiet when wandering through even these woods, so she wanted to be cautious.

When she was a few feet from the figure she realized who it was, the kind...and handsome...librarian, her new boss.

She relaxed completely, and Aoi circled around to stand beside her. He was relaxed, he sensed no danger in this man.

"Darien," she greeted warmly, "what are you doing here?"

Jim was taking a walk in the woods again. Yesterday he had dealt with the wolf. Breaking every bone in the body. Not a nice way to go. He heard a conversation and walked towards it.

Shiro grinned at his astonishment, "Darien, meet Aoi Ryu...my blue dragon, my pet," she said laughing.

She shrugged off his insistance that she would be in danger, "With Aoi here I feel perfectly at ease, you should know the healing properties of dragons, and Aoi would protect me from anything."

Shiro thought about his statement that he was looking for a pool with Tiger Lilies, she wondered if she could search with him, she would love another place that would be nice to visit. Maybe Aoi could help them find the pool, he had great senses and although he was a mountain dragon he had an uncanny knack for finding water..

"Could Aoi and I join you in your search?" she asked politely.

A tiger lily pool. Jim chuckled. He knew where it was, and he was a hosptable mood. He walked out of the shadows. "Hello, Shrio, who's your friend?' he asked cheerfully.

Shiro smiled and turned so she was standing beside Darien instead of in front of him, "Darien, meet Jim, Jim...this is Darien." she gestured to each in turn.

Aoi snuffled, and she smoothed his side lovingly just below his wing joint. He stretched the multicolored wing out shading Shiro and Darien momentarily.

Shiro laughed, he really was like a huge puppy dog.

Jim chuckled too. "So, you guys looking for a tiger lly pool? I think I know where it is."

He actually did and he knew the elf they were meeting. One of the few people he would consider a "friend" really.
