"Well you have to keep your options open at this time of your life," she smiled cheekily, "You never know who might come round the corner." She dreamt of a guy who would fit her perfectly and stood in the middle of the corridor in a daze. She thought of all the things he should be and all the things he shouldn't. She didn't even know if Rose was talking to her or not as she was in such a daze.

Blaze stood still in the middle of the classroom. He was still rather gobsmacked at the recent events. He threw weasel another look for sympathy or support.Now what was he supposed to do. He had just overheard bits of sally and rose's convosation and silenly vowed to himself that he would not let himself get messed around by sally. Like Gary was by Rose. Forget about her he told himself. Your just mates. he couldn't believe what he had just walked into.

"Sorry," she jolted coming out of her daze. " I mean don't get me wrong on this Rose, i do like Blaze and, you know a bit more than normal friends do, but i just don't want to commit myself" she gave a half smile and looked back into the classroom where Blaze still looked thoroughly confused. "Could you kind of explain it to him?" she asked Rose, "Please, i mean not everything but just make sure he knows that i'm not messing him around. Just creating an air of mystery," she smiled, "And making him fight for my love" She used some hand gestures to illistrate(spl) the drama and laughed out loud.

Weasel could tell that Tom was looking for sympathy from the other side of the classroom, but he had just heard a small part of Sally and Rose's conversation. His right hand already had his wand in it from when he had seen the dummies, but now he was twisting it in his hand and glaring at Sally and Rose. It took all of his self-control to stop him jinxing Sally there and then, which he easily could have done. He put his wand into his trouser pocket and went to talk to Tom and give him that well earned sympathy.

"Okay," Rose smiled almost maternally at her new 'apprentice'. "I understand, you know. And I'll make sure he does too. But - just a quick warning for the future - maybe be a little less harsh next time? I know it makes sense in your head, but people are different, and you never know how he may react." She winked at Sally and turned on her heel, flicking her long hair around and striding purposefully and neatly into the classroom towards the two boys, her high heels making a regular clicking sound on each step.

"Are...are you alright?" she asked Blaze, a perfectly balanced expression of concern on her face. Her worry was not fake; there had been something a little inexperienced and badly judged in Sally's actions, despite her approval of the way she was making him see her point of view. After all, that's what it was really: not manipulating, just letting boys - and men - see the other side of the coin. She put a hand lightly on Blaze's shoulder, pouting ever so slightly as she stared intensely into his eyes.

Rose will sort him out. I didn't mean to be so harsh, but it all came out, I was partly joking. Oh, he would never understand. Rose will do her best She continued her skipping down the corridor. She had no idea where she was going to go or what she was going to do but right now she couldn't care less if the whole castle burned down. Well, actually, yes she would.

Blaze looked at the floor. I've done it now. he thought can't take it back she knows how I feel Rose was standing comfortingly at his shoulder and weasel was also standing around. Weasel was restraining the need to hex a nearby dummy which for weasel Blaze kn ew needed a lot of self control. "Alright, yea i'm alright" said blaze rather sarcasticly "I've just told sally i love her and she told me that i haven't got a chance. Im fantasticly alright." Blaze felt utterly stupid. What did sally think he was going to do now. Go back to being friends. How could he do that after what he had just told her. It would be awkward.

"Oh come on, Tom," she replied, still pouting, and using his first name for once. "She didn't say you didn't have a chance. Maybe she just didn't want to give herself away too easily. But if you show her that you really are serious about it, she'll probably give in." Slowly, she ran her hand up and down his back in a comforting manner. "It'll work out, I promise you."

"uh" grunted Blaze "sure" Blaze wasn't sure what to do now. Should he be flirty with sally hoping he would get a chance. That is if Rose is right and is not just saying that to make him feel better. Or should he drop it and try to return to normal life. Despite that thought what Rose said helped, Rose was sympathetic and sympathy was just what Blaze needed right now. He looked around the classroom. Was it lighter now, or was it him. "I think i'll leave it for a bit" he told Rose.

"Mmm, that's probably a good idea. But whatever you do, don't avoid her." She smiled at him - the heels on her school shoes made her around the same height as him - and subtly slipped her arms around him in a light but comforting hug, her fingers playing absent-mindedly with the bottom of his shirt. "Or," she shifted her weight ever so slightly, "You could do what I would do and make her jealous...?" It was a genuine suggestion, and a technique which - usually - worked. However, she had mentioned it more as a joke than anything else, and didn't expect Blaze to pick up on it.

"avoid her!" said blaze shocked. "Thats a wierd approach. I can't avoid her, she is the only one who i can always rely on" He looked again at Rose, her slim, elegant figure. She was standing gracefully on high heels. (probably to make her look taller) "and as for jealous. I think not. Sally is not the type for getting jealous." He glanced around the classroom again. Weasel was still standing there suprisingly still listnening to his convosation with Rose. He once again pictured the image of him and Sally together, in his mind. "Expecto Patronum!" he called and the room was filled with a warm siverish light as a shiny squirrel monkey erupted from his wand. "Thanks for the advice and sympathy" He told rose. "its helped"

"Well, if you think so. But, believe me, she cares about you much more than you can begin to imagine. I've heard it said that there is nothing so deep and incomprehensible as the love of a woman. Hell, I don't even understand it sometimes, and I am a woman!" She laughed and gestured to her full figure as if to emphasise her point. "The one thing which will always kick-start any protective and caring emotions is jealousy." She smiled and pulled her wand from inside her shirt, planning to make a patronus to join Blaze's. The happiest memory? The usual ones, of course. In the park, with dad, playing guitar and singing, not caring what anyone thought! Swimming in the lake with Gary and Faith, and laughing when people told us to watch out for the giant squid! Seeing Faith and Edward together for the first time... Without even having to mutter the incantation, an eagle erupted from her wand tip, floating about the ceiling and swooping around their heads, chasing Blaze's monkey.

Blaze watched the two patronuses happily gliding round the room as he went over the idea's Rose had just given him. Making her jealous would be good Blazr thought silently to himself. That would make her think straight He looked around the room glad that edward was not here reading his thoughts. His eyes fell on Rose Perfect He thought I'll use rose "So .. doing anything tonight?" Said Blaze etching a little closer to Rose.

She smirked. "You're very predictable, you know. And very, very obvious. But I'll pretend I don't know what you're doing and say: mmm, nope, I'm free this evening. Why?" She laughed, and with a flick of her wand the eagle was gone, leaving the monkey alone in the classroom. Biting her bottom lip, she wondered briefly if Blaze had ever done anything like this before. He seemed very naive when it came to girls, but all the same, he was a teenage boy. Of course he'd tried things like this.

Blaze looked at the look on Rose's face, she knew what he was thinking. "Look, you know what you said about making her jealous?" said Blaze his eyes wandering around the room. "Look i'm not very good at this 'girls' stuff." Blaze shrugged abandoning his attempt to explain. "You errr... wanna go for a walk tonight?" He asked hopefully.

"I'd be delighted to," she sighed sarcastically, glad that the formalities were finally out of the way. "I'll meet you at the lake at, say, eight? Oh, and remember to make sure she sees. That's the whole point." She hugged him once more, grinning mischievously and leaving a light kiss on his slightly blushing cheek. "See you tonight..." And with that she swept out of the classroom, winking at the two boys as she did so.

"Ha" said blaze grinning at weasel. "this'll make sally think straight. And he strode out of the classroom after Rose with a massive grin. He couldn't wait for 8 to come. He knew sally would see it. They would wonder right under the window of the gryffindor tower. She couldn't miss them.
