Alex chuckled lightly, "It was only a kiss Rose. It's not like I'm f*cking you. Stop trying to blow this whole thing out of proportion. Just because you hate me." Alex looked directly at her, his eyes baring down on her skin. "Do you want everyone to hate you? Do you have no self respect?" Alex sighed and looked at Gary hoping he would understand. Besides, one kiss never hurt anyone.

"Sometimes I do want everyone to hate me. It's better than them being indifferent to me. It's better than them not caring at all. Whether they're f*cking me or trying to kill me, it's all better than them not knowing I even exist. Though sometimes," and here she lifted her eyes very meaningfully onto Gary, "I think that the people doing those two things don't think I really exist either. I hope that answers your question, Alex. There was no danger of you ever liking me, was there? You've always hated me, right from the start, because of the lies that Gary told you about me."

Gary looked at Rose, frowning. He was slightly confused by her words. All he wanted was some fresh blood and sleep, but it seemed like neither of those two things would come tonight. He held Rose's gaze for a moment, looking at the anger and hatred in her eyes, and he couldn't help but think 'Sammael would be proud of her.' He had always thought that Rose was weak and pathetic, and easy to control, but looking at her now, Gary knew that he had been terribly wrong.

"Yes, look at me, Gary, look at me!" she demanded, raising her voice, as she noticed his eyes on her. "I'm different now, better, and I won't be following you like a little puppy, constantly forgiving you for kicking me in the face. At least Sammael was predictable, and he kept to his own principles. You change your moods and opinions so much that I don't see how anyone can mean anything to you. Or is Alex 'the only constant in your life'?" she mocked bitterly and sarcastically. "You're both pathetic. If Sammael taught me anything, it was to open my eyes. And now I know. Love makes people weak."
