Name: Minerva McGonagallAge: 70
Year [if attending Hogwarts]:House: Gryffindor
Appearence: Average height, black hair typically worn in a bun at the nape of the neck. Hazel eyes, that are very astute and behind square framed glasses. Always seen in tartan plaids.
Personality: Minerva is a strict teacher who expects the best from her students, and has a no nonsense approach to her classes. She also is very strict about rules, and follows them closely herself. She is actually a softie at heart and only wants what is best for every student. She is fair, and loves a good Quidditch match.
History: Minerva attended Hogwarts in the house of Gryffindor around 1937-44. She was the Head of Gryffindor since 1991. She is Transfiguration Professor since 1956; and Deputy Headmistress since 1991. During the timeline of this web-plot she will become Head Mistress; assuming we follow that story line.
RP Sample [trial period for character may occur. If that is the case, I will fill you in once we get to that point]: Professor McGonagall stood in the long dark corridor. The first years fidgited and the air was tense. Her face was composed in the usual stern manner, and she had no words of comfort for the few who cryed from the strain. Instead she waited for some signal only she heard and nodded to the rows of students.
"It is time." she said.
She turned and pushed the heavy wooden doors open with both hands and without a further word led the first years into the Great Hall to be sorted.
She stood staring at the tattered hat on the wooden stool. Soon it broke out in a short yet precise speech on the year to come. There were direct references to the houses uniting and all Houses working together. When the song had finished she took the proffered scroll with names on it, picked up the hat, and began to read.
The first student came forward timidly and tentatively sat on the stool when motioned to do so. McGonagall placed the hat on his head and waited for the sorting.
Soon they had made their way through all the names, and she plucked the hat from the last head and deftly took the stoll back out the door they had entered.
Once she resumed her seat Headmaster Dumbledore stood and addressed the Hall, where he announced the start of the Feast.
