History: Lucius was born in 1954, and was the son of Abraxas Malfoy and his wife. In 1965, he began attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and was sorted into Slytherin house. While at Hogwarts, he was made a Slytherin prefect. At some point after his time at school, he married Narcissa Black; their son Draco was born in 1980.

Lucius eventually became a Death Eater, one of the followers of Lord Voldemort, but abandoned that side after the Dark Lord's first fall in 1981. Lucius claimed he had been bewitched by Voldemort through the Imperius Curse and had not meant to serve him. Though this explanation was accepted by the Ministry of Magic, some, such as Arthur Weasley, believed it was a lie. Lucius then went on to get a job at the Ministry of Magic as a school governor of Hogwarts

Lucius walked into the leaky cauldron. He nodded at a few faces he had recognized. He ordered a firewhiskey and sat down in a dark corner. He was waiting for someone and for some reason he was getting quite nervous. He took a sip of his drink when his guest sat down opposite him.
