Character description:
Albus was described in the first Harry Potter book as "tall, thin and very old".
He is often seen with Muggle sweets of some sort (much to the objection of Minerva McGonagall), such as Sherbert Lemons, which he is "rather fond of".
He is mosty seen with his half-moon spectacles and is most recognisable with his long, white beard that tucks into his belt. Most people in the wizarding community have him highly revered, although at one point he was known as a "crackpot".
Known worldwide and regarded as one of the most powerful sorcerer of his age.
History:
Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore was born from July-August 1881 to his parents, Kendra and Percival. He attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and was sorted into Gryffindor. He soon became known as one of the greatest students Hogwarts had ever taught. According to his brother, Aberforth, he won every award that the school offered. He left Hogwarts, with everyone having great expectations of him. He left and went with Elphias Doge to wish to travel the world, but, his mother and he retired to his house to care after his sister, Ariana. His father, Percival, was in Azkaban, due to a well publicised attack on a muggle.
While being at his home, he met Gellert Grindewald, they became friend and aspired to take control of the Wizarding World. There was an argument later which then broke out in a three-way duel with Albus, Aberforth and Grindewald which ended in the death of Ariana.
Albus was heartbroken, and never fully recovered from this.
He then later went back to Hogwarts (despite being offered the position of Minister for Magic several times) and became a Transfiguration teacher under Headmaster Dippet.
He soon raised to Headmaster and kept that post for 64 years.
Family History:
Dumbledore's parents, Kendra (Mother) and Percival (Father) both died before Albus got his job at the school. Albus' sister, Ariana, also died due to a duel with Gellert Grindelwald, although it is unconfirmed who killed her. His brother, Aberforth, works in the Hogg's Head pub and in Deathly Hallows, assists Hogwarts students in getting them out through a portair leading directly to the school.

Albus sighed, he looked at his many-handed watch. It was four o'clock and he had a meeting scheduled with Rufus Scrimgeour in half an hour and he was not looking forward to it. He recently had a "rift" with the new Minister for Magic.
Albus stood up and exited his office, walking down the second floor corridor and down the staircase, greeting students, he entered the Entrance Hall and out into the courtyard, walking past the water fountain and out of the grounds. As soon as he was ready, he apparated to the Ministry.
